Empower Mississippi is an associated member of the State Policy Network, which supports ALEC model bills through lobbying and campaign financing. Its founder and CEO, Grant Callen, formerly worked as director of development at the Mississippi Center for Public Policy (MCPP) and its senior advisor, Forest Thigpen, founded MCPP and worked for Americans for Prosperity.
